Dear David:
Thank you for your reply and the attached messages.
You can give me permission to quote emails you received
IF you have asked for and received permission from the
SENDERS to do so -- I know, I know ... but it is safer.
If we do not use the sender's name, I do not think we
need permission, but it makes it much nicer to attach
names to such aspects.
I am looking forward to seeing them!

David, would please provide me with some bio on
yourself: age, education, what you do, family, etc.
--how you got into genealogy, how long, etc.
--How the siddur was finally retrieved from your desk?
--some more info about your family(ies) and places of
origin
--the previous trials and tribulations of the siddur

I know that it is hard to describe what you and others
went through last week, I would very much appreciate it
if you could offer some personal observations of what
you experienced, what you have seen in the rescue and
recovery stages, any remarks on how NYC pulls together
in the face of adversity (as a NYer born and bred, I
know, but this one isn't about me!!!). I have spoken to
friends and family about their experiences and have
been glued to the television for almost all of the
first week, 23 hours a day, and I know what you mean by
not having the words.

I am looking forward to doing this column very much. I
believe it is very important.

David, you mentioned having the page with the names and
dates scanned. If you could send that to me it would be
a good illustration. A photo of yourself or (some are
camera-shy, I know!) of one of the elder generations
(perhaps the ones who were the first to arrive in the
US), such as your great-grandmother if one is
available.

Best wishes,
I look forward to receiving more information (bio,
answers to questions, photo, scan, email responses)
from you and putting this together.
(Attachments need to be sent to my home email (barak)
as we cannot open them in the office because of virus
concerns).
