Dear David--I've read your postings on JewishGen and I am so happy to
hear of a positive experience, something that isn't death and
destruction.

Because of your Princeton alumni email address, I'd like to tell you a
brief story: my cousin, who teaches at Princeton, was on his way down
the West Side Highway heading for NJ at exactly 8:45 and saw the first
plane crash into the WTC from his car. His brother, who was having
coffee at a shop in lower Manhattan, also saw the crash from where he
was seated and has been helping support the rescuers with food, water,
etc. Just made me feel that the world is small and that we are all
responding to this event (whether emotionally from a distance or by
being physically present). At this moment, it is clear that people all
over the country and the world feel very close to the suffering in NYC.

Take care,
Ellen Silon
