I was an interesting question from hte E.A.9.11 e-mail. I think that the area should have a memorial and have a support building there (or both) for people that loose family members in any kind of national disaster and for rescue workers and hteir families. IF we give more knowlege about things like this maybe history wont repeat itself. What do you think?

I THINK YOUR RIGHT! IN ONE PART OF MY MIND I THINK THAT TO IT SHOULD HAVE A MEMORIAL AND HAVE A SUPPORT THINGY THERE BUT I ALSO IN ANOTHER PART OF MY MIND THINK THAT WE SHOULD BUILD THEM BACK! BIGGER AND BETTER WHERE THEY COULD WITHSTAND ANYTHING. I DONT THINK WE SHOULD LET THEM THINK THEY GOT THE BETTER PART OF US ~~~~~AMBER~~~~~
I think you are right. we should build them back too. Some people might hurt too much to go back to the same place and some people might not want to go anywhere else. I think there should be some say by the peopel who worked there. I do not however think they should be "bigger" if it means taller because I think that caused some problems on 9.11. That many peopel should not have died there were some mistakes that should not have been made and a better escape plan should have been made.
I agree with amber, I think we should build them beck, and ten stories higher. we will not be defeated.
I think a memorial should be built there out of respect. I think to build the towers back would look like America wants to get back to making money and those who died aren't really important. I think we should be more concerned with respecting those civilians, policemen, and fire fighters that died than with building the towers back. I would only be in favor of building the towers back if within the towers there was a plaque with a list of those who died with a quote of respect to them or there are plans to build a memorial elsewhere in the city.

I believe too that we should build them back. There certainly should be a huge memorial on the grounds too. I am not sure what will happen though because it just isnt practical to build them back. Who knows -- I am sure that architects will come up with some very good and moving ideas.

I believe that we definatly should not build them back. That area should be considered sacred and holy ground. I believe we should build nothing there but a very tiny monument in rememberance of EVEYRBODY that has died from terrorism. Not just those on 9/11. I think it should reflect what has happened to the world due to the hatred of terrorism. It should reflect the suffering of human kind due to the atrocities a select few have done.
That is my opinion..
...punch and pie
build them up higher??? That would not be a cool thing to do. They were not safe for natural disasters let alone the kind of disaster that happened there. You saw that it was almost impossible for a lot of people to make it down that many stairs in the time given. What happens if one is crippled. It makes it worse. This wasnt the first time they had problems with evacuations. I knwo the problems there were not all with people getting down the stairs (who ever said there was no problems had some issues i think) but that becamse a major problem when not everyone could make it down.
In my opinion, we should build them back, either the same as before or less maginificant, but definitely not taller. Because that way, we are practically daring new terrorist to come and through some "evil" and wicked way to try to destroy them again. They should be built stronger and a clear escapre route should be designed. Something lide a sled or something that can deliver one really fast to the ground. Because on 9/11, many had to take the stairs all the way down. Or they should have standard parachutes on every single floor. I saw people jumping out the windows on 9/11, if there had been parachutes, they could have jumped to safety instead of their deaths. And it would be really good for the economy too, new jobs would be provided, even if they were only temporary. The Empire State building was built in 8 months because of the high unemployment of the Great Depression.

The problem however is that people are not going to want to use the space. If they build the towers back they will be full of empty offices. How many companies are going to take the chance to have themselves based on the 100th floor of a building? I love the idea of building them back, but realize the need to look at the other side too.
