Lots of people volunteered and helped in many ways by donating blood, donating clothes, raising money etc. in my school we (a few people in a class) raised money by making american flag pins and sold posters we donated the money to the firefighters. What were some of the ways u guys helped? if anyone did!

I went to a hospital near my house. Since so many people were volenteering to donate blood, they had to turn people away and make appointments. I called people who had expressed intrest in donating blood and made appointments for the coming weeks.
In school we made cards & sandwitches for the nearby firehouses and delivered them. I think some of our cards are still taped to the doors of the stations.
I also spent time with friends who were personally affected, whether they lost someone or couldn't go home. I don't think that's volenterring, but I hoped it helped my friends out.

There wasn't much we could do because of th efacts that we are just teenagers but basically i did the same thing as everyone else. Since i am part of the student governemnt in my school we made pins and sold them and collected money that we donated to the relief fund...... We had a special candle light vigil on our football field.... an we had a service for people who used to go the school that were lost and for people in the school who kost loved ones. I wanted o donate blood but being 16 i am too young. Since i am a lifeguard and ceritified in first aid and cpr and rescue breathing i tried to go down to the area by ground zero and try to help the injured but i couldnt get in since i am not part of a hospital or ne thing.
i just tried to be there for anyone who needed to talk. As i said in a different post my soccer team is wearing fire department patches on our uniforms in memory of one of our teammates fathers and we made an award in memory of him that will be given to one player each year.

Soccer32US I disagree with your post about not being able to volunteer because we are teenagers. I think that all of the things that you did sound very intresting and for sure had to have helped. There is a lot that we can do even if we are only teenagers. Some of the things that I did to volunteer was the same things that I have always done, just changed the focus slightly. As for a new volunteer project, special for the September 11th tragedy, I did not do anything. Sometimes, though the littlest things can have the most difference.

Lindsay..... i guess you ae right we can help out even though we are teenagers and the little things do count.... I just get frustrated i want to help people on a bigger level sometimes.... But in this situation you are right the little things coun the most!!
