Since we are on the subject of wars, what does everyone think about a-bombs? I think if one country uses one, we will start an atomic war. I read this book last year, about something like that that happened (fiction of course) and it was really scary.
I agree, they're really scary. A really good book to read about Nuclear Bombs/etc. is Z for Zacharia. It's kind of a... strange book, but it's REALLY good. I read it this year and it's changed a lot of my views about the way America dealt with certain problems (i.e: Ending WW2, I mean, KIDS in Japan are STILL overcoming the affects of the A-Bombs from 1945 and they weren't even there yet. I mean, should people have to pay for the things their grandparents did?)
Atomic Bombs are freaky! They certainly do not make the world a better place, and i don't see how they ever could, sure maybe if you bomb some terrorists off the face on the planet, hip hip hooray. But when you think about it, once one country uses atomic bombs it just gives any other country the right to use them too. It's just going to end up killing innocent people and ruining beautiful places. War does not and NEVER will solve anything.

Omg- drummerchick! I read that book..i had nightmares forever. Now i am so scared of a nucleur war happening.
I wouldn't be too worried. Not many countries are capable of it, at least not yet. I believe it's just America, India, and I think Russia who are capable of Nuclear war and Russia's on our side and India's not taking a side, but they don't dislike us. I'm not sure about which countries are capable of it. if anybody knows and I'm wrong, correct me. But I know Russia is and that we are...

Actually, i was in a discussion about this with my history teacher(I think it was her) and she told me that many countries were capable of nucleur warfare. Thats whats so scary, all those countries in the middle east, she said; have atomic weapons. Thats why all these wars in the middle east (not just between us and afghanistan) are so scary, cuz these people hate eachother so much...they will do anything to successfully complete genocide or any other goals.
yeah, i think iraq is, too, but i'm not sure.
