heres kind of an orwellian concept ive been toying with since reading 1984. it makes alot of sense to me. first for most of he last few centuries there have been three primary classes. an upper class, a middle class, and a lower class. the theory is that the upper class tends toward conservatism to preserve their power. the lower class generally strives for autonomy and or equality via socialism, anarchy etc. the middle class then presents itself as liberal while in reality not truly seeking equality rather using a guise of liberalism to garner support from the lower class in an effort to topple and replace the current upper class. this is not to say all members of these classes are that way. but it does explain our two party system and why it hasnt achieved any real equality. because the lower class is not represented. this ties into war because there are in our current system enough resources to provide for true equality. however the too ruling classes as a whole simply do no want this. thats where war comes in. its really little more than a war to provide for scarcity which drives prices up allowing profit for the employing class while still forcing the working class to submit itself to a 40 hour work week. the reality is that terrorist pose a minor threat to us. granted 3000 or so died but that pales to the numbers lost by starvation, lack of health care, aids, drunk driving, etc. this is why i believe this war is not for our safety yet simply fought to preserve the wealth of the upper classes.
the end
I dont agree entirely because the majority of the country is supporting the war, not just the rich people. But I do agree that war benefits the rich much more. Um there was some example in history in which the government even looked into this [well, government funded company i guess it was] and I believe they managed to prove that the war was fought mostly for industry...but I havent a clue what the name of the thing was anymore.
