I know that alot of people support many causes but don't really DO anything to promote them. So here's a few things I've found that you could do if you felt so inclined.
Anti-War Rally...on April 20th in Washington, DC there will be an anti-war rally. I intend to go to it and if any of you here are in the area and support the cause, I advise you to attend as well. More info on it at http://a20stopthewar.org . Hope to see you there.
National Day of Silence...This event, occuring on Wednesday April 10th, is to suport gay/bi/lesbian/transgendered people who have been harassed or discriminated against based on their sexual/gender orientation. Basically all you do is remain silent for the day and hand out little cards explaining why you are. ANYONE can participate, regardless fo your sexuality. More info at http://www.dayofsilence.org .
Youth Pride DC...Another gay rights related event in DC, basically it's just pride day for young queers. It is on April 13th beginning at 11:00am I believe. If anyone actually cares, reply and I'll get you more info on it.
That's about all events-wise but if you want to know more things to do or learn more about a cause, go to aclu.org [cival liberties in general], glsen.org [gay rights], unamerican.com or raisethefist.com [both anti-capitalist/anarchist websites].

ohhhh boy activism does make me happy. im going to be at the march on the 20th as well. its also a march against racism, against world bank/IMF/WTO and all that crap, and also i believe it is in solidarity with the people of columbia as our "war on drugs" is ripping apart any radical insurgence against our puppet dictatorship (which incidently also supplies drug) so it should be a festive good time.
a few other sites that i find useful are crimethinc.org (this site is brilliant) infoshop.org, znet.org or guerillanews.com
also i would say that you odnt need to wait for the big protests in new york or d.c. to go do something. theres alot you can do wih a couple of friends that will bring people about to a cause you support. say your anti-capitalist and you live by a huge mall(like woodfield mall by where i live its one of he largest in the country...people vacation to this mall...a vacaion at a fucking mall) then go there and do something. go inside and do an anti-capitalist improv theater, get a stencil shaped like a handicap sign and make huge chumks of the parking lot handicapped, or heres my new personal favorite...print out fake coupons for a local business that just plain sucks (starbucks, wal-mart, McDonalds...) make them a really good offer such as free big mac no purchase neccasary, then disribute huge amounts of these coupons and people will rbing them in and either get free food or waste the businesses time and piss people of for their "false advertising" oh me that is alot of fun.
sorry i got off an a rant. im done now
okay, just to let you guys know, there are a couple of rallys in phoenix coming up... this saturday, there is a gay pride march which i would be going to but i didn't know about it until it was too late to take off from work, so i'm not to happy about that. i'm not sure where it is, but it shouldn't be too hard to find info. there is also a rally to support israel at mccormick railroad park on wednesday at 5:45...lots of press coverage, there should be a good turn out. i think there's only one other person from the phoenix area in our discussion, so this is for you (and anyone else who wanted to know about random rallys and whatnot.)
i also agree with anarcho-commie-chris that you don't have to wait for big rallys to be active, but i do things slightly differently. i research things, so i know the facts, and a lot of times i get to write programs for youth at my temple and in my region, basically for education purposes. then there's always writing letters to congresspeople, joining clubs at school, doing community service, helping out a government official, etc. etc. i'm sure you all get the drift.
