okay guys, i know we only have three days left, but i was looking through another group's discussion, and i'm kind of curious about everyone's opinions.
personally, i am a virgin. it's not something i'm proud of or ashamed of, i've just never had the right guy or experience. but most of my friends at school have and are having sex. on the other hand, a lot of my other friends from youth group type things are much less inexperienced. (and don't blame it on the whole youth group-religion thing, i can gaurantee you that it's not the reason.) i hate to say this, but, from my experience, my friends who are in the slightly lower class seem to have had sex first, whereas my youth group friends, who are mostly upper-middle to upper class, have not. i, who am in the severe middle class, am in the middle as far as experience goes. has anyone observed similar or really different things? do you guys believe in abstinence until marriage? for some reason, i have been having random conversations about sex lately with some of my friends, and i was curious as to the opinions of objective outsiders, so i thought i would go here! :) thanks.

I don't think it really has to do anything with social classes. People think upper classes can be just as sexually experienced as those in the lower classes. I don't know maybe because the lower class people dress a little more less. If you know what I mean. The people in the upper class may dress so nice that you can't even imagine them doing that kind of thing. Me personally? I'm a Christian and I'm waiting till marriage. Yea it's hard, that's why my man is going to get it on our wedding night!

wow that's extreme! sure there are students mating like bunnies but most of my classmates aren't talking all about whoscrewedwhom on monday. I don't believe in that archaic no sex until marriage stuff but I do want to love someone to be able to have sex with him. and to love someone I have to know the person; i don't want to have sex with a person who might be handsome at first sight only later to discover that he is really GROSS inside. At least that's what I think about it. As for when teens DO talk about sex.....well, there are so many worse things they could be talking about. At least be glad they're open enough to freely talk about sex and drugs and all. and another thing, plenty of the teens have already had sex, and they do it reguardless of their parents' income level. the affluent ones do it in droves, and just about all the jocks have done it....look at how rich the jocks' parents are all! They get expensive cars, and swimming pools, and know lots of other rich snob parents who are ready to let their friends' jock kids go when they get caught with drugs or even caught trying to vandalize a building around town.
I don't know about the whole social class theory, but whatever...
My personal opinion is that I want to wait until marriage to have sex. Sure, it sounds trite, but that's my decision. But if you're truly in love with someone, married or not, I see no problem in haveings ex with them. Besides, what does a ring on a finger and a big fancy ceremony say? "yeh, now we're legally in love." or "yeh, we can screw now."
I'm waiting until marriage, but anyone who doesn't want to - it's your choice. Just be sure you're in love first and not doing it just to prove yourself (like a friend of mine did.)
