of course its sad, ITS A DAMN SHAME. and seriously i dont think its just some coicendence. My teacher he has a friend who taught in Florida and was teaching his students about the recent WAR in afghanstan. he was teaching against the war and his students decided to start an anti-war movement. now wouldn't u know who comes rolling along, the board of ed in florida suspends him immediatley, and i beleive the FBI started to investigate. interesting isn't it?????????

i actually didn't really know what this post was about until after i sent it.
in terms of music, it def is on purpose that they do it. most of the ceo's who run radio stations are very very rich and have a lot of influence in the government.m eaning that the government has a lot of interation with them. after 9/11 many songs got banned from the radio, like Gun's N roses knocking on heaven's door andRAge against the machine songs. SO MUCH FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH. I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE "FREEIST" NATION IN THE WORLD? I guess its more like FREEDUMB.

i dont know if censorship is the right word.
Censorship isn't the right word...whatever word means "not wanting to offend anyone...?" I dunno..seems to me all the censors do is bleep out the curse words on rap songs that might "offend" young children even though the kids probably already know what the words mean. But no, censorship isn't the right word.

It ruins music for me when they bleep out words. Like "bad" words (when strategically applied) sound really dope, and they do carry like weight. Also sometimes I'll be listening to a cute song on the radio with a nice hook and nice beat or whatever and I'll think the song is about one thing cuz I'm hearing the edited version and then I'll hear the unedited version later and I'll really be "offended" for lack of a better word by the content of the song.

Rainydaygirl5,
Censorship is exactly the right word
dictionary.com defines censorship as the following:
1.The act, process, or practice of censoring.
2. The office or authority of a Roman censor.
3. Psychology. Prevention of disturbing or painful thoughts or feelings from reaching consciousness except in a disguised form.
Pay close attention to #3. If you've been reading these posts you will see the comments on the board about radio stations not playing certain songs. They don't want to play them because they may bring up disturbing thoughts to the listener.
Well, I feel like that is not fair to an artist. The artist created a piece of music to be heard. If the listener doesn't want to hear it then they can always change the station. Then again, they may change the station to a station that practices "censorship" which kinda kills my point... But hey, if you preffer censored music over the music the artist intended, then go for it. I personally can't stand other people deciding what I can and can't listen to. I feel that censored songs lose their meaning.

With the radio thing, REMIND? Honestly, that has got to be the most idiotic thing I have heard so far. Have any of you seen that list? I'd link it but I'm too lazy. Some of those songs.... Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Walk like an Egyptian where the most outrageous. But should we take down all american flags? (Actually, I think thats a good Idea but thats just me :) All the rememberance type stuff? TV coverage? Yeah right.
