President Bush just made a speech encouraging the Senate to ban all human cloning, including research which could help with treatments for diseases such as Parkinson's. What do you think about this?

I think he is taking yet another dictatatorial (yes i think i just coined a word there) step!! Although in my opinion we shouldn't ever clone a human being, stopping RESEARCH is completely wrong. Once we reach the point where we stop science, we stop our development as a civilization. Perhaps it is against religious and popular moral beliefs to clone and do stem cell research. But I don't think we can ever control science or research or knowledge because of what our government morally believes.
I agree, I believe we should ban all HUMAN cloning.

What do you mean by ALL human cloning? Does that include research, or the reproduction of humans? I don't believe we should clone humans because of the risks for the human clones and, really, I am scared. How can you have two of the exact same person? Personality? Life? It's frightening.
But the research, well, science can never be stopped.

Well, guess I better add my views, since I started this. I think reproductive cloning is wrong(irresponsible's probably a better word) because there are so many children throughout the world who need homes. I am completely against the government banning research because it will not only limit the US in science, but because I think it would show that the government feels it has the right or responsibility to legislate morals as if the people are not able to decide and regulate themselves by not getting involved in areas they feel to be immoral.
