    Our Partners

    Our partner, PBS.org, has a great section combining all of the material on their site relating to the events of 9.11 called America Responds. And the youth section of the Online Newshour has a section called Life After 9.11. Another area of PBS called In the Mix, which is reality TV for teens, has a teen-oriented section called 9.11 -- Looking Back, Moving Forward.

    Another partner, YouthNOISE, has a useful section called Attack on America. YouthNOISE also offers a section called Islam, Muslims, Arabs and Intolerance. Check out the informative new "Axis of Evil" feature for background on the U.S.'s conflicts with North Korea , Iraq and Iran .

    A third partner, Shine, developed a section called Don't pick the wrong fight, which deals specifically with Muslim and Arab American discrimination.

    For Youth, By Youth

  • Do Something has a huge "Attack on U.S." channel full of info and resources
  • Check out this page of links and coverage about 9.11 from Wiretap: "Youth in Pursuit of the Dirty Truth".
  • Teen Speak News, a network of teen journalists, has a section full of articles and features related to 9.11
  • Teen Web Online is a teen-created site helping kids deal with tragedies like 9.11 and Columbine

    For Youth, By Adults

  • In an effort to expand opportunities for students to connect with youth in muslim countries, Friendship Through Education has a list of resources on Islam and the Middle East.
  • CNN has a special news section just for students with info on 9.11 and other current events.
  • What Kids Can Do highlights tons of youth projects and other ways teens are making a difference. They also have a well-detailed directory of good Youth Web sites.
  • Children Now works to improve the quality of media both for children and children's issues.
  • Facing History and Ourselves focuses on ways to get kids to talk about racism, tolerance, violence and other issues.
  • Youth Media Communications has a brand-new page of links and resources called After the Attacks: Young People Speak Out.
  • Media Workshop has a "9/11" collection of articles, gallery, and links for students. Be sure to check out the contest they're running for students to submit essays and mulitmedia projects about September 11 -- you could win CDs, books, or cold hard cashola.

    For Adults, By Adults

    For information about the current state of terrorism and its history, check out this site by the Council on Foreign Affairs: Terrorism: Questions and Answers.

    For news coverage, from then to now, the New York Times offers a nice collection called A Nation Challenged. The Times also has a good site on terrorism called America Attacks.

    Alternet, an independent, alternative news site, has a section called After 9-11 which has tons of artices, features, and editorials on a variety of subjects. For the six month anniversary, they put up a new page with the best stories from their new book After 9-11: Solutions for a Saner World.

    A site called Media Channel explores the role of the media in 9.11 in their special coverage section World in Crisis, Media in Conflict.

    Beliefnet.com is a great resource for facts and news about world religions and info on spirituality, morality, culture, relationships, and family. They also have a section for teens.
