Move On, Just A Little More Wisely
In the eye of last tuesdays terror on the United States things are appearing to return to a less frightened state, but not all the way. Being a sports fan i've not been that interested in sports over the last few days. Almost every major sport has been completely cancelled. Now i'm starting to realize that if American life doesn't proceed on similar to the way it was then the terrorist have already won!
By no means am I saying "forget what happened and move on." In fact, i'm saying just the opposite. Let's hold this closer to our hearts and show how strong of a country we are. In the face of adversity and terrorism our American people CAN unite and live on. Let's show these Anti-Americans that no one act of terrorism can disable our lives completely!
Some may call this insensitive, but life really must go on and so must war. If we shut down all of our businesses and completely revamp our way of life, be it leisure or industrial, our culture will face a considerable demise. Consider that Wall Street wasn't open for just under a week until today. Upon the close of today our market had it's biggest fall in history. This is due to our ineffective ways of dealing with such a monsterous terror that has befallen our country. Now, instead of becoming less empowered and having a learned helplessness we need to fight and survive. Yes, put the counter measures into place to prevent this crime and let's payback the people that did it. But, it's also time to restimulate our economy and this includes professional sports, leisure television, and the release of movies.
Now, new precautions are MANDATORY in order to live life more securely. I'm not saying we should carelessly jump back into our ways of life and not be careful. As for the economy, we will survive and forward movement is necessity. War will stimulate some markets and companies. Some of the automotive manufacturers will switch to producing military vehicles, there will be contracts for military clothing, and weapons makers will produce a considerable amount of military ammunition and artilery.
So in the light of all that has happened let's hear a public outcry for life to be more safe, but to continue being the strong nation that we were before this act. Let's prove a point stating that we are the United States and we don't take sh*t from anyone. Watch us fly!

Portfolio and Flash Site Work
Last night I started working on my portfolio site. My intention is to make this site you are viewing now into a flash design. Last night marked the time I started working on it. Once I am more proficient in ActionScript I will develop the ArtIsAlchemy site a little more.
I've been compiling portfolio pieces from work for this site. On average you see 4-13 pieces in someone's design portfolio. So far I have five of my most recent work that I am proud of. I've got work all over the web, but i'm not that interested in submitted 2/3rds of it. This site will also display what kind of work I can do.
One of my biggest fears is getting labeled as an artist and not a developer or a business man. Project management, web developement, marketing, business knowledge, and so many other things that my head is filled with can be taken advantage of by a small company.

The US Declares War
It appears that everyone has immediately starting putting the Trade Center/Pentagon/Downed Plane in Pa. into their blog. My desire was to wait until more facts were in and a course of action was plotted. It appears that the Bush administration has decided they have enough facts to make solid commitments and statements:
Earlier, President Bush told reporters at the White House that Tuesday’s attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon marked the start of “the first war of the 21st century.” Allies around the world, he added, have vowed to help us “whip terrorism.” “This is now the focus of my administration ... now that war has been declared,” Bush said. MSNBC.com’s Miguel Llanos and Alex Johnson; NBC’s Robert Hager and Robert Windrem; The Associated Press and Reuters: http://msnbc.com/news/627028_asp.htm
Hopefully the UN and other nations will see that this attack on the US could have very well happened anywhere.
The sabotage and murder of Americans was a manical act, but you reap what you sew. If this was an attempt to make the US feel inferior well it didn't work with this cowboy, and I pray that millions of others are right behind me. For the first time in my life I feel that war IS an answer. There is nothing that I hate worse than war, except someone forcing my hand to enter one. This chain of events is that very sort of thing.
Hopefully people will throw down their party beliefs and rally behind the US and our president as he does what his father was scared to do; go to war. Like him or hate him he is a symbol that makes America such a great place. Democracy, freedom, and "The American Dream" are just some of a few things that George Bush represents as our American president. Being those things he too was a target in this whole terroristic action. To attack our loved ones, to attack our way of life, to attack the symbols of what makes us American's is an attack on ALL of us PERSONALLY! It's time to bring the United back to the United States and go to war!

Quote of the Day
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes.
That way, when you do criticize him, you'll be a mile away and have his shoes.
