[1.26.2001] I am a bad bad journal updater guy. *grin* Ok, here's a rundown: Ingenue is 36th, has all her lambent armor but boots (/rude goblins), wields an Icetooth's Claw and Crystalized Sword, and is moving smoothly towards 37th. I'm 37th, and gaining rapidly on 38th. Down to only needing gloves to fulfill full ivy etched, but I doubt I'll bother to camp Maldyn. I've got a Yak (woot, it even procs) and my Orc Impaler (STILL regret that quest). Hunting the Overthere currently, fearing things near Skyfire zone. Should get my next spell circle this weekend, which will GREATLY improve life. (39th spells for rangers are awesome.) 1:54 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [1.3.2001] Well, I updated sooner this time at least . . . I'm level 33, almost 34, wearing full ivy, minus my boots and gloves. Have a Drakkel Forged Bastard Sword now, and just completed my Hero Bracers quest. (Green plate, woot!) Ingenue is up to 32nd, closing in on 33rd. She's missing her boots, breastplate, and helm, though she claims she's not wearing a bucket on her head, and is tempted to merely dye her boots (since we have a ton of permafrost crystals now.) 12:26 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [12.27.2000] Just a quick entry. Orc Impaler is a hell quest. I do not suggest anyone do it. Ingenue has Lambent Gauntlets and I have Ivy Leggings. Serani and Kanvil helped us out after a long, frustrating couple of days. I have my level back, too. (Lost 31 after dying in it 4 times.) I find I barely have a chance to update here anymore, which is a damned shame. *sigh* Let me try to hit some points really quick. Ingenue is wielding a pair of Mithril Fier'dal Rapiers now, which are very nice indeed. We both have a pair of Crested Spaulders now, as the Caitiff was nice enough to cough some up. She's got 2 lambent bracers, and I've got both my ivy bracers as well as my helm and sleeves. I'm in the middle of hell 30 and hating it, while she is cruising rapidly through 29 and will soon join me (before I escape it, I'm sure). We're trying to stay up closer to Treean, Kanvil and Serani. Hopefully the vacations Serani and Treean are taking away from EQ before next year will allow us some catch up. 4:44 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [11.29.2000] Long weekend. Been pretty busy and focused on updating the guild pages first. Didn't leave much time to make entries here. Heck, had 3 duplicates up for a week. *grin* Spent a TON of money on Ingenue's armor this weekend. To the tune of 450 plat or so. But, she looks damned shiny. Has better AC than I do. *sigh* I ended up making a bunch of money fletching (SLOW coin, I tell you) and such on Monday and Tuesday. The big score came on Tuesday when I tracked down an errant druid for Jiger. He was appreciative enough to give me about 350 plat worth of loot. (At least for Ingenue, who is up to 125 cha when she wants.) Of course, can't have coin sitting idle! So, we bought 4 Jagged bands for 280pp. *grin* The rest if earmarked for our bracers, which we've got a decent start on. (2 watery rings, and we're currently in North Karana hunting 'fennes.) So tonight I hope to finish off the search for charms and get on with the killing of that damned Orc Redwind. We'll see what he's made of. *grin* 4:04 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [11.20.2000] *sigh* DSL woes continue. Almost killed me about 3 times last night. On the plus side, Ingenue is 18, and I'm 20. So I really am "Gladesman Scout" now. Couple of levels and Ingenue will have her full name as well! Saturday we grouped up with a bunch of Keepers in South Karanas kiling Aviaks. Was pretty amusing having three bards in the group! Basically we've been having DSL troubles, and haven't been able to play much. *sigh* Ingenue made 17th last night, and currently wields a Brazen Brass Kilij with a Dragoon Dirk offhand, while I am 19th, and am using my practice sword still. Tonight we might see 18 and 20 respectively. I'd be very happy to get there! As for this weekend? Mark of Fire is doing Perma, and we're doing Runny. We'll see if Ingenue and I make the raids. With how hard it's been to play recently, we may just need to concentrate on advancement. 1:05 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [11.9.2000] We're rolling again! After days of waiting, not advancing, and just plain "wasting" time . . . I hit 202 Fletching skill. *sigh* Now comes the fun times! Picked up a bubble in fairly short order last night, and hope to finish off the level tonight! (Making me 18, and giving me Parry, which would be handy.) [11.5.2000] Well, yesterday was a good day for us! Ingenue hit 15th level in the Lake of Ill Omen, then we purchased a Two Handed Practice Sword (19/47, Proc: Shield of Thistles) for 135pp. At the end of the evening, I managed to hit 17, then we were off to Firiona Vie to train my dual wield! Had a great time grouping with Treean, and he made 19th during the course of our hunting! Levels were being raised all across Norrath, as many of our guildmates celebrated advancement. All in all, Saturday was very good to us. *grin* 2:25 PM [posted by Gladesman Scout] . . . [11.2.2000] So, Ingenue and myself have made the trip over to Kunark. We're hunting near the Firiona Vie zone in Lake of Ill Omen. We have been killing Sabertooth Tigresses and Cats, Sarnak Flunkies, Goblin Battlemasters and Aggressors, Greater Skeletons, Lesser Icebone and Charbone Skeletons, and Iksar Marauders. Thusfar we've made two bubbles, which took us perhaps two and a half hours. It's a touch slower than Proximo and Leetah managed to advance during their adventures in the area, but that's to be expected. Our goal is another three bubbles tonight, making her 14 and me 16. I suspect that as we advance, the experience rate will rise, as these next levels begin a fairly rapid series of changes in how well we can fight. It's good to note that my new spells are working admirably. The addition of direct damage to my lineup has been very welcome, and there's no denying the effectiveness of my two new buffs. I even managed to kill a lesser icebone with my damage shield once last night. Always nice to know you're not facing another round with a tough opponent. Being relatively reasonable, I'd expect to see 16 tonight, and 17 by Friday or Saturday. Probably 19 by the end of the weekend, but I'm actually hoping for 20. [10.25.2000] Well, I've made 12th (and Meditate, thank the Gods) and Ingenue is up to 10th (sporting her new Anthem) . . . been hunting in the Commonlands quite a bit, actually. Greater Lightstones off of wisps are our most frequent target, of course! Picked up a pair of Blackened Iron boots for 6 Greater Lightstones, which I thought was pretty decent. Equivalent to 48pp and some experience for us. As well, the seller was asking for 60pp. I don't really care, since I can kick magic now! *grin* This weekend the guild will raid Befallen. Should be interesting, as I have never really spent any appreciable time inside . . . an interesting challenge, leading a raid into a new zone.
