I, too, saw the face in the smoke, but I did not see it in the paper or even
know that it was in the paper until my son, Jerry Cooke, who's visiting his
Dad in Michigan, told me about it. As the events of September 11th unfolded,
I had the TV on watching the Towers being hit. I saw the face appear in the
rolling, billowing smoke. At first I saw the evilness of the eyes as the
face took shape. I remember just a cold chill coming over me. In fact, I
looked away. I told myself it was probably just me. I even made a joke
about it to my daughter when she told me she had sent me a picture of the
Towers she had received with an image of an angel in it. I laughed and said,
that's wierd; I saw an evil face. I never mentioned I saw it to anyone else
but her. (I figured people might think I was being a little crazy) I really
put it out of my head, again thinking it was my mind playing tricks on me or
just a coincidence. I talked to my son maybe two, three days later and he
told me he didn't want to freak me out, but he had seen this picture and
then described what it looked like. I had never mentioned to him what I had
seen while watching it on TV on September 11th until after he told me about
the newspaper picture.

I know now that it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me because I saw it
unfold in the billowing smoke as it was happening. No one could have altered
the images on the TV screen. I know the picture wasn't altered by you.
Today is the first time I've seen the picture by going to this email site.
Seeing this, I know it wasn't my imagination or a trick of my eyes. It was
very real. I know that some won't believe that I saw it before the picture
was realeased. It doesn't matter. I know. When I first found out about the
picture, I found myself thinking about the image I saw of such evil eyes and
the image almost being alive as it took form in the moving smoke, and it was
a little frightening. I just constantly remind myself, yes, there's evil in
the world, but I know that there's also so much more good and good always
wins over evil as evidenced by all the spirit of all the people coming forth
to help, my son, Ted Poszywak, Fire Chief, being one of them that went to New
York to lend a hand. He saw the evil first hand as he stood among the rubble
and his life, as all of ours, is changed forever.

I just wanted to let you know all this so you, too, will know it's not a
trick of the eyes or the mind, if you can believe my story. Sincerely,
Sandra Cooke
